Flushing Alliance Church
I grew up in North Augusta, SC on the banks of the Savannah River just across from Augusta, GA. As a child, I accepted Jesus as my Savior and was baptized. At twenty-two, God called me to ministry while employed as an X-Ray Tech. I graduated from Bible college (B.A. Columbia Bible College) and seminary (M.A. Trinity Theological Seminary) and was a youth pastor for five years in two churches in Georgia and Connecticut. I served as senior pastor in a non-denominational church in South Carolina for five years when I came to Flushing Alliance as pastor in September 2001. My wife, Faith, a native of Cleveland, grew up at Grace C&MA Church where her father served as pastor. We met in college in 1986, and were married in 1994. We keep busy at home by raising our three children: Rosemary, Carolina, and Charles.
Pastor Jack , 79 went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2009. Jack was used by God to revive the ministry at Flushing Alliance, as the church was near to closing its doors when Jack and Vivian came to pastor in 1984. The McKimmies came from the Weirton Alliance Church (WV) after serving as lay leaders for 29 years. Jack retired from full-time ministry in 2001 but remained active in the church and community until his death. The McKimmies celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July 2009. Jack is survived by Vivian and their children (Pat, Jeff, Scott, and Rhonda), 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Vivian continues to serve our church as the leader of Primetime.
Melody joined the staff as pianist and music director in 2009. Melody is an accomplished church accompanist and directs the worship band and praise team. She has many years of experience in church music ministry and her goal is to lift up the name of Christ through music and worship. Melody is the mother of two and is anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandchild in 2010.
